Lab Grown Diamond Eternity and Band Rings
Shop QSE makes 15 lab grown diamond band and eternity rings in solid 14K gold, from $479 for a 0.50 carat classic band to $1,899. They are made in the widest size range of any ring we sell — US 4.25 to 12, including half sizes at 5.5, 6.5, 8.5 and 11.5 — because a band is the one ring most often bought to stack or to match a ring already owned.
Band rings divide into two kinds, and the difference decides almost everything about how you will live with one.
Full eternity against half eternity
| Full eternity | Half eternity | |
|---|---|---|
| Stones | All the way around the band | Across the top half only |
| Looks | An unbroken line of diamonds from every angle | Identical from above; plain metal underneath |
| Can it be resized? | No, and this is not a policy choice — there is no plain metal to cut | Not by us, but the plain underside is what makes resizing possible in principle |
| Wearing it daily | Stones sit against the palm side, where a ring takes most of its knocks | Plain metal against the palm, which wears better |
| Cost at the same carat weight | Higher — roughly twice the stones | Lower |
If this is a ring you will wear every day for years, the half eternity is the more practical of the two, and most people are surprised to be told so. If it is going to be worn on occasions, or stacked above an engagement ring where the underside is hidden anyway, the full eternity is the one that reads as intended.

Sizing, and why these are different
Band and eternity rings are made in US 4.25, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11, 11.5 and 12. That is wider than the rest of our ring range, where sizes 6 to 10 carry almost all the stock, and it includes half sizes that most of our solitaire designs do not offer.
Two sizing points specific to bands:
A band feels tighter than a solitaire at the same size. Stones set around the inside circumference take up room a plain shank would not, and a wide band covers more of the finger. If you measure at a half size, a band is the one ring type where that half size is likely to be available — order it rather than rounding up.
Stacking changes the size you need. Two rings worn together on one finger press against each other and sit less comfortably than either alone. If this band is going above an existing ring, size it on the finger while wearing that ring.
Our ring size chart has the measuring method and the inside diameter in millimeters for every size, including the US, UK and EU conversions.
What cannot be undone
A full eternity ring cannot be resized by anyone, ourselves included. There is no span of plain metal to cut and rejoin, so changing the size means remaking the ring. We exchange for the correct size within 30 days on eligible pieces rather than altering, under our return and exchange policy, and custom and engraved rings are excluded from that entirely.
This is the one purchase in the range where measuring properly before ordering genuinely matters more than anywhere else, because the usual fallback does not exist.
Shapes
Most band designs use round brilliant stones. The marquise motif band uses marquise cuts, and baguettes appear across 14 of our ring designs as accent stones — the step-cut rectangle that suits a band better than it suits a solitaire, because a row of baguettes reads as a continuous line of light rather than separate points. Our guide to lab grown diamond shapes covers what each cut does.
The honest disadvantage
Stones set around the full circumference of a ring worn daily will loosen sooner than stones on the top of a solitaire, because the underside of a ring takes the knocks. That is physics rather than workmanship, and it is covered by the lifetime manufacturing warranty, but it means a full eternity ring worn every day needs its settings checked once a year. A half eternity does not.
And, as with every lab grown diamond, resale is substantially below a mined equivalent of the same grades. Buy it to wear.

Common questions
How much is a lab grown diamond eternity band?
Shop QSE band and eternity rings run from $479 for a 0.50 carat classic band to $1,899, in solid 14K white or yellow gold with every stone IGI certified at E-F color and VS1-VS2 clarity.
What is the difference between a full and half eternity ring?
A full eternity ring has stones all the way around the band; a half eternity has them across the top half only. They look identical from above. The half eternity wears better daily, because plain metal rather than stones sits against the palm, and it costs less at the same carat weight.
Can an eternity ring be resized?
A full eternity ring cannot be resized by anyone, because there is no plain metal to cut and rejoin — changing the size means remaking the ring. We exchange for the correct size within 30 days on eligible pieces rather than altering it.
What ring sizes do band and eternity rings come in?
US 4.25, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11, 11.5 and 12. That is the widest size range of any ring we make, and it includes half sizes that most of our solitaire designs do not offer.
Should I size up for an eternity band?
Not automatically, but be aware a band feels tighter than a solitaire at the same size, because stones set around the inside take up room and a wide band covers more of the finger. If you measure at a half size, order it — bands are the ring type where half sizes are stocked.
Do eternity rings lose stones?
Stones on the underside loosen sooner than stones on top of a solitaire, because the palm side of a ring takes most of the knocks. Have the settings checked once a year on a full eternity ring worn daily. A half eternity has plain metal there and does not need it.
What size eternity band should I order for stacking?
Size it on the finger while wearing the ring it will stack with. Two rings together press against each other and sit less comfortably than either alone, so the size that fits on its own can be tight as a pair.
